Michael Annett Pre-Race Notes and Quotes: Michigan
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 13, 2014) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett will drive the No. 7 Pilot Flying J / Allstate Peterbilt Group Chevrolet SS this weekend at Michigan International Speedway for the 23rd race on the 2014 calendar.
Annett’s first Cup Series visit to the Brooklyn, Mich. track netted him and his team a 21st-place finish, tying the best all-time MIS result by a Tommy Baldwin Racing driver. In five NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at the two-mile facility, Annett averaged a 15.8-place result and a best finish of 12th coming in 2012.
The race will air live on Sunday, August 17 at 1 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.
ALLSTATE PETERBILT GROUP DEBUTS… Allstate Peterbilt Group, one of the industry leaders in parts, service and sales of medium and heavy-duty trucks and equipment, adorns Annett’s Chevrolet SS as a co-primary sponsor this weekend. It marks the first of three races this season in which APG will partner with Annett in this capacity.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Michael Annett this year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series,” said Tom Wentworth, the General Sales Manager for APG. “We’re looking forward to rooting him on, starting with this weekend’s race in Michigan.”
MICHAEL ANNETT QUOTE:
“I was encouraged with our race last time out at Michigan. We finished 21st. It was a good day for us, and considering how many teams seemed to struggle with a slick racetrack, I was pleased with how we progressed during the race. I’m sure there are teams that have improved upon their speedway packages for this place. We have too. I’m eager to see how we stack up.”
