HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 12, 2015) – Alex Bowman and the No. 7 Nikko RC/Toy State Chevrolet are looking towards Phoenix International Raceway for a fresh start following an engine failure at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Heading home: Sunday’s race marks a homecoming for Bowman. He is a native of Tucson, Ariz. – located a little more than two hours southeast of the one-mile tri-oval, Bowman’s return home will be greeted by many family and friends in attendance.
Spreading smiles: Every race weekend this year, Bowman and sponsor NikkoRC/Toy State have made it a personal mission to find a local children’s hospital in the vicinity of the race track. Bowman and Toy State senior vice president of global marketing Andy Freiss spent several hours with children at Sunrise Children’s Hospital while in Las Vegas.
This week Bowman heads to Phoenix Children’s Hospital where he is scheduled to visit with several patients.
Bowman says: “Heading to Phoenix always means a lot to me because of the outpouring of support I get from my family and friends.”
“Phoenix is our first short track of the season and it’s a challenging track for many reasons, it’s very line-sensitive and restarts will keep us on our toes throughout the day.”
